Vinous: 89-91 Points
The 2022 Saint Romain Sous Le Château, which came from tank on the lees, has a lively green apple and grapefruit-scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with a waxy texture, tropical hints of guava and dried pineapple with a dash of lemongrass towards the finish. Fine.
Burghound: 87-89 Points
Cool and airy aromas are comprised by notes of Granny Smith apple, lemon zest and a whiff of petrol character. The sleek yet nicely rich flavors, at least in the context of what is typical for St. Romain, are complemented by bright citrus-tinged acidity on the clean, dry and equally refreshing finale. This too should drink well young.
