Burghound: 87-90 Points
This is very ripe and not quite as fresh though not so much that the red berry liqueur-like aromas are roasted or flat. There is better vibrancy on the palate with equally good detail but also a seductive richness that carries over to the moderately firm, rustic and bitter pit fruit-inflected finale.
Vinous: 86-88 Points
The 2020 Meursault Rouge comes from two lieux-dits. It just lacks the precision of the other cuvées, a little muffled. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red fruit, the oak (20% new) not quite as well knitted as say, the Auxey-Duresses. Good density on the finish, but just a little monochromatic.
