Tiefenbrunner Description

The Tielenbrunner estate is run by husband-and-wife team, Christol and Sabine Tielenbrunner, representing the fifth generation of this family winery. Their estate vineyards total twenty-live hectares within the communes of Entiklar. Kurialsch and Margreid, with another 45 hectares that are farmed by trusted growers throughout the region and fill much of their entry-level portfolio, the Merus lineup. There's a lot to like about the selection at this estate, as Tiefenbrunner ranks among the wineries in Alto Adige that maintains a fantastic level of quality across the board. Their selection wines, the Pinot Blanc Anna and the Sauvignon Blanc Turmhof, a blend of the best parcels, are standouts. However, it's undoubtedly the single-vineyard Muller-Thurgau Feldmarschall von Fenner that is the crowning jewel of the estate. The Feldmarschall is sourced from the highest known elevation Muller-Thurgau vineyard in Europe al 1000 meters. It's one of the top whites of the region and is geared for the cellar

Vinous: 94+ Points

It's almost impossible to pull away from the 2019 Müller-Thurgau Feldmarschall von Fenner, as an enticing blend of lemon oils and tangerine give way to candied ginger, flint and crushed apples. Its textures are otherworldly, seeming almost creamy yet weightless and soothing to all that they touch. Exotic melon, lime zests, minerals and inner floral tones resonate throughout, all offset by a balanced inner sweetness, as the 2019 finishes lightly structured and remarkably long. As amazing as this is today, it will only get better through cellaring. The Feldmarschall von Fenner is a varietal Müller-Thurgau from thirty-year-old vines that grow at 1100 meters above sea level. This is not to be missed.
