Pichler-Krutzler Description
In the region of Danube’s‘ river knee the grapes for this wines are growing on well drained sediments like pebbles and augmented sand. These kind of deep soils are showing in this wine in a very sublime way: spicy and juicy, vigorous and elegant at the same time this wine can age for several years and develop stunningly – an absolutely Wachau Grüner Veltliner classic!
Vinous: 91 Points
The 2022 Grüner Veltliner Klostersatz is from four parcels planted in the 1970s on heavier alluvial soils, and was partially fermented in wood. The nose is shy and the palate taut and bright-smooth with yeast but prickling with white pepper. The slender body is concentrated and walks a lovely line between ripeness and tautness, but with ample spice. This is a kind of textbook Grüner Veltliner, flowing quite gently. (Bone-dry)
Wine Advocate: 88 Points
The 2022 Grüner Veltliner Ried Loibner Klostersatz displays coarse CO2 bubbles in the glass and offers a clear and intense, finely earthy and yeasty bouquet of ripe, white seed fruits and hints of flinty gravels. It is elegant, round and juicy on the palate and provided with a fine, crystalline and discreetly saline acidity. Light rather than medium-bodied, this is a balanced and already-accessible Veltliner from the left bank of the Danube River.
