“Aries” is one of twelve constellations of the Zodiac and is depicted as a majestic golden-fleeced Ram in the northern sky. Aries comes into view as our Chardonnay vines begin to awaken from their long winter’s rest. It’s thought that the celestial pull of these new Spring constellations help draw the life-force back up from root to vine, as they begin their annual rebirth.
The 2022 Aries Chardonnay is a thoughtfully crafted selection of barrels sourced from our premier single vineyard Chardonnays, showcasing the finest expressions from key sub-AVAs within the revered Sonoma Coast. Included are key vineyard sites in the Green Valley and Petaluma Gap sub-AVAs, complemented by our very own Marine Layer Vineyard Chardonnay nestled in the Sebastopol Hills. These sites, characterized by their foggy, cool evenings, distinctive microclimates, and varied soil compositions, collectively define the sought-after terroir of the Sonoma Coast. Bright and vibrant, yet mineral-driven and nuanced.

The 2022 Chardonnay Aries is a very pretty, understated wine. Light tropical accents, apricot, mint, tangerine oil and marzipan are all laced together. Silky and refined, the 2022 is wonderfully classy, not to mention incredibly delicious. It's a terrific introduction to this lineup.
