I Pentri Description
I Pentri takes its name from an ancient Samnite Tribe and is based in the Benevento province of Campania with 10 hectares of terraced vineyards on the hillsides of Monte Taburno. Husband-and-wife team Dionisio Meola and Lia Falato founded the winery in 2002 after 20 years experience of tending vines and the land in this area close to their hearts. Vineyards are tended and harvested by hand. No chemicals are used and natural biodynamic practices are followed with minimal interventions in the winery. Wines are fermented with wild yeasts and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Note: A hit of ginger and iced fennel introduce the Flora Falalnghina. Zesty with pear, nectarine and green mango. The fruits are framed by an intense zip of crushed citrus pithiness and the candied plumpness of textural density is balanced on a long blade of flourescent vivacity.
Vinous: 92 Points
With each tilt of the 2021 Flora Falanghina, the senses light up. A seductive blend of fresh mint, peach preserves, sweet smoke and vanilla custard wafts up from the glass. It's elegant yet potent, washing across the palate with textures like weighted silk guided by vibrant acidity as a contrasting core of crisp tart apple emerges. Its minerality comes through the finish, tapering off salty and mouthwatering, as a bitter twang of savory spice punctuates the experience.
