Guímaro - Camiño Real 2021 (750ml)
Wine Advocate: 94 Points
The 2021 Camiño Real has a primary and ripe nose, despite the moderate 12.5% alcohol, but a structured and balanced palate, showcasing the old vines from Amandi, combining orientations, altitudes and soils. It's 80% Mencía and the rest local grapes, Brancellao, Merenzao, Sousón, Caíño… It fermented with some 60% full clusters and the rest uncrushed grapes with 45 days of maceration, and it matured in a combination of 500-liter oak barrels and 5,000-liter oak vats for 10 to 12 months. There's something ethereal about it, medium-bodied with very fine tannins, a constant across vintages, more elegant than powerful.
