Domaine Vincent Dureuil-Janthial Description
Vincent Dureuil has cared for all his vineyards organically since the mid-2000s (yet does not include an organic stamp on his labels). Vineyard rows are regularly plowed to control weed growth. Very little sulfur is added during fermentation or at bottling.
Close your eyes, take a sip and you’ll swear what’s in your glass hails from a premier cru vineyard in the Cote de Beaune. Winemaker Vincent Dureuil blends older-vine fruit from vineyards in Rully proper for a plush, savory and lively white Burgundy with few peers.
A selection of estate-owned fruit from vineyards ‘La Martelle,’ ‘Chaponnière,’ ‘La Bergerie’ and ‘Le Meix Cadot.’ Soils mix limestone and clay. Many vines were planted by Vincent’s grandfather in 1949.
Tasting Note: Aromas of white peaches and citrus zest; chalky notes. Supple and juicy; lemon, quince and white pepper.
Wine Pairing: Sushi; white fish with citrus; roasted chicken
Wine Advocate: 90 Points
Dureuil didn't produce any lieu-dit bottlings at the communal level this year, so there's no Chênes nor Maizières, only a lovely bottling of 2021 Rully Blanc, a medium to full-bodied, ample and incisive white redolent of crisp pear, yellow apple, peach and nutmeg. Fleshy and saline, it's well worth tracking down.
