The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Montroziers, which debuted last vintage, is a blend of various parcels that were bottled separately, including Les Lavières, Argillats and Les Damodes, plus others, aged in 30% new oak. The nose has good intensity with cranberry, wild strawberry and rose bush scents. The palate is quite sweet on the entry, not a wine of enormous finesse but flavor-packed with dark red cherries and strawberry on the finish. Fine.

A discreet application of wood sets off slightly riper aromas of most red berry liqueur, the sauvage and earth. There is fine richness to the caressing medium weight flavors that possess fine length on the mildly rustic and lightly stony finish that is firm enough to need 6 to 10 years to fully resolve. This is also very good yet not especially austere and thus could easily be enjoyed young.
