Succeeding to his father in 2005, Aurélien Verdet tirelessly carries on the Domaine legacy and chiselled pure wines. The Domaine now comprises holdings in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Vosne Romanée villages, 1er Cru Beaux Monts, 1er Cru Nuits Damodes and Boudots. Aurélien's passion for his vines, which are all meticulously tended to produce the highest quality fruit, translates to a very low intervention approach in the cellar. His wines are a pure joy to discover and to cellar.

The 2022 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Le Prieuré has an attractive nose of macerated red cherries, crushed strawberry and light sous-bois scents. It just requires a little more intensity. The palate is a step-up: fine tannins, crisp red fruit, solid focus and a delicate but quite persistent finish. This is well-worth seeking out.
