The 2021 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is one of the wines of the year in Sauternes. Creamy and beautifully resonant in the glass, it offers up a compelling mélange of pineapple, mint, ginger, orange confit, chamomile, passionfruit and floral-infused honey. The 2021 is exotic and wonderfully deep, yet not at all heavy. It's too bad Sauternes is such an out of favor category, as great wines like this don't get much attention. That's a shame, because Lafaurie-Peyraguey is truly magnificent in 2021.
