Château Couhins Description
Tasting Note: Delicate bouquet of spring flowers and white-fleshed fruits, its fullness, liveliness, and persistence on the palate, strongly influenced by the Sauvignon grape.
Vinous: 93 Points
The 2021 Couhins Blanc turned out beatifully. Bright and focused, the 2021 possesses tons of verve that gives the wine its distinctive character. Lemon peel, sage, mint, crushed rocks and slate all race out of the glass. This is impeccably done.
Wine Advocate: 92 Points
Like its red counterpart, the 2021 Blanc is a real gem this year, evoking a smoky, flinty and slightly reduced bouquet with aromas of spring flowers, white flowers, lemon oil and citrus. Moderately weighted, satiny and incisive, it has bright acids and a long, mineral, saline, iodine-inflected finish. While it offers plenty of immediate charm, it also has the structure to age well. This blend is crafted from 95% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Sauvignon Gris, aged for eight months in 20% new oak barrels and 80% in a mixture of used barrels.
