A dusty blend of balsam herbs, menthol, dark chocolate and dried black cherries define the 2019 Etna Rosso Guardiola. It's surprisingly soft and enveloping yet quickly gains in tension. Saline minerals and exotic spices complicate its tart red berry fruits. This finishes chewy and tannic, with a residual bump of acidity that works to balance as a bitter balsamic tinge fades. Patience will be required.
