Located just south of the Duoro in Portugal, the Dão is a valley enclosed on all sides by mountains, these mountains protect the region from the cold wet conditions of the Atlantic and also protect it from the warm and arid conditions of inland Portugal. An up- and-coming region, the Dão still has yet to show the full extent of the quality of wines it can produce, but with what they have produced thus far, there is not doubt it is bound to be exceptional.
