Offers for the 2022 Vintage Campaign have begun!
2022 Bordeaux Futures Offer #4 The wines are coming in at pace now; we've got a lot of new items in today's offer, including a second and third wine that should get your attention. Before we talk about the wines, I think it's important to stress that some of the wines are quite limited. I know that a lot of you like to hold off and make orders at the end of the campaign, but this year there is a greater chance than normal that some of these wines will not be available later. For example, if you are thinking about Cheval Blanc, please let me know. I have a few bottles left from cases that I've ordered, but I don't think I will be able to get any more.
Le Petit Ducru is the 3rd wine of St. Julien second growth Ducru Beaucaillou and looks to be an amazing value this year. Galloni at Vinous rates it 91-93 with this strong review: The 2022 Le Petit Ducru pulses with notable energy. Graphite, lavender, mocha and licorice play off a core of blue/purplish fruit in this mid-weight, vibrant Saint-Julien. All the elements are so well-balanced. This is beautifullu done. $42.40
Carruades de Lafite is the second wine of first growth Lafite Rothschild and is always in high demand. If you want this one, do not hesitate. Galloni also has very high praise for this wine, scoring it 92-94 while giving the following note: The 2022 Carruades de Lafite is a real showstopper. I don't remember tasting a Carruades quite like the 2022, a wine that combines the richness of the year with tons of supporting structure. Super-ripe red-fleshed fruit, blood orange, mint, cinnamon and rose petal all race across the palate, supported by bright citrus-driven acids that keep the flavors vibrant. I can't wait to see how this turns out. $279.05
